You are asking a question about free customers, which is SPECIFICALLY answered on that page.
If you are using the free plan, ONLY to give away products, then we suggest you just use Dropbox or Google Drive.

This bunch of Californian hipsters probably spend more time acting cool and checking their iPhones than taking care of customers.
I purchased a digital book via them but I didn’t receive a download link. I contacted them through PayPal (and via my own email) to find out what had happened. My contact via Paypal opened a dispute.
3 days later I got a direct response saying to check my Junk folder. Nothing in there so I asked for another link. I received a link but it didn’t work.
I was told the link wouldn’t work until I dropped the PayPal dispute. This is how disputes work they told me (total BS). I challenged this and eventually I asked for a refund. Again, no refund until I drop the case.
Obviously, if I drop the case I cannot open it again if Gumroad fail to refund.
And that’s how it stayed until it went to resolution, no goods or refund until I drop the case. Not once did Gumroad reply to the PayPal dispute. Totally unprofessional.
PayPal quickly found in my favour and refunded me promptly, I’m guessing this isn’t the first time these jokers have tried this.
Recommend Gumroad? Dream on…

Funny that you've updated your response 5 or 6 times now lol. I think this section says everything we need to know about Gumroad (just incase you delete it on subsequent revisions). So many disputes to deal with...I wonder why?
"To be sure, customers issue disputes against us in PayPal all the time. We ask them to cancel their disputes all the time. When they do, we refund them or get them download links."

I placed an order, they said delivery time 3-7 working days, they didn’t send the package and i don’t want it anymore so asked to cancel order and give my money back, no answer, several mails but still no answer and no money back. Worst customer service ever DON’T buy here!
I was supposed to buy an item using a discount code that would provide the team for free.
The discount code didn't work and I got charged the full price.
I explained my situation to the support and they answered me and fixed the issue, refunding the full price, in less than 24 hours.

This is a complete scam site! BE AWARE!
They let creators sell digital goods, then all of a sudden they confiscate their money and suspend their accounts! BE CAREFUL and avoid using GUMROAD at any cost! It is a scam!
Unfortunatelly a very strange situation happened with my service on this platform.
They have been suspended my service because their algorithm detected some inconsistencies in the payment system among others. They probably don’t know what was the true reason, just said alghoritm detected without any research. I wrote XXX e-mails byt they didn’t help me. My product was 100% legal. I am unpleasantly surprised and shocked !! And they just send my money back to my clients without warning me before about the situation!!!!! They just even don’t send me an e-mail that they suspend me forever! I don’t know what is going on! It is so pity that it happened to me, because probably their system made mistake or someone makes mistake include myself into this!!!! This is realy weird and not fair. I worked on my brush package for a very long time, step by step, brushes are made only by me!! And I can’t do anything with it on this platform because they don’t want to help me.
A service worthy of commendation for its wide and free range of different content.
They didn’t send me an email so now I can’t access the course I paid for. It was a link on the Person’s IG after you click it a couple of times it says you viewed this item a few times and that’s it.
Looked at buying an ebook that shouldn't carry VAT on it as the UK treasury made e -books exempt.... Sent an email to customer services asking why this was happening and got one back saying they had to collect it.... which is simply incorrect.

Complete $hit customer service. I asked a simple question and the idiot on the other end seemed not to understand a single word, no matter how simplistic and carefully I explained my inquiry. After five emails of trying my best to get him to understand, he thought I was being rude and just replied "Ok. Bye dude."
Unprofessional. Useless. Did I mention their site design is ugly, too?
Ok Gumroad lets stop lying ok Part_2
Once again Gumroad Lies! Here it is folks they/Gumroad claimed I impersonated a lawyer. If so I can be sued or put in jail . The reason why I am not because they have to try to diminish my credibility by you guessed it Lying. Next Is that whole word salad they posted with no mention of--
A.) Confirmation of the D.M.C.A that was sent to them from Parker Poe , from Truebones selling the Fortnite models and animations on Gumroad. Anyone can call the law firm Parker Poe and ask for the Lawyer Christoper M. Thomas and confirm the email from the post is true.
B.) After confirming That Please Look up Truebones on Gumroad and Look at all the other content he has ripped from games on sell on his Gumroad account. Also After the fact it was proven from the D.M.C.A, he/Truebones is an infringer on the Gumroad site By Epic games Lawyer Christoper M. Thomas. Proven by the take down notice and Truebones is still there.
C.) With an Bad rating of 67% and Poor rating of 5% that put your Scummy Website on a place not for professionals to go to. DO NOT TRUST THEM! When they take down your account because of fraud it is a LIE. Go to Truebones on Gumroad and watch him selling Ripped content from games.
D.) Last but not Least I had no part in your diminish reputation that was you Gumroad and the disgusting way you treat your customers and the professional people who come to your website looking to find products or sell them. It is not me but others who came here before I did to tell people do not trust GUMROAD!!!! I can confirm that DO NOT TRUST GUMROAD!!!! Part three is coming also to this review.
As a consumer I bought a digital comic. Immediately after I received numerous fraudulent charges for " facebook" ads. FB has never had my card info. Gumroad sold my card info. It's been hell disputing all of these small numerous charges. I just wanted to support a talented artist, it's unfortunate that they chose to use Gumroad which is a scammy platform
Gumroad is both very easy to use and yet it offers a lot of functionality. Excellent experience as far as I'm concerned.
Gumroad's support is fantastic, contrary to what I read on here. I had so many issues due to my own odd set-up (such as not charging customers for a couple of months and then restarting), and Steve and Earnest were extremely helpful with all my unusual requests. They even agreed to reinstate customers manually.
I really felt like they went above and beyond. Even though I was doing things that were beyond the capabilities of the software, they tried to figure it out with me so that we could make it happen for our customers.
I was so impressed and grateful to them both.
